Overview
The curriculum in this program strikes a balance between practical music training, ministry training, and theology. Students will be taught the fundamentals of worship leading and creative arts that support worship through music. The courses taken in the Certificate Program can be applied toward a Bachelor’s Degree.
Objectives
- To grow closer to God through the study of His Word
- To stir up the gifts related to worship ministry
- To learn components of music theory, instruments, and sound production
- To develop close relationships with like-minded peers
Program Structure
Internships:
In Worship Leading and Creative Arts (16 hours per 8 week session)
- a. Worship Team at Local Church/Ministry
- b. Sound Tech. at Local Church/Ministry
- c. Recording Engineering at Local Studio
- d. Video Production/Projection for Local Church/Ministry
- e. Web/Online Media Team for Local Church/Ministry
Worship & Creative Arts Symposium:
In order to graduate, each SWCA student will attend and participate in a three day event hosted by CCU-SWCA. This event will include intensive Bible study and training from experienced worship leaders, CCU faculty and administration. During the symposium, students will present a final presentation of their acquired skills and experience. Students will also be required to work in a group environment of combined CCU-SWCA students to produce a worship production including a developed worship team presentation, with all sound, and projection (CG).
